The pigeons are everywhere.

One could almost say, it’s wall to wall pigeons.
It is fascinating to think, why do they all congregate at the same spot?
It doesn’t matter what time of day you come here, they have taken over the space. It’s like they have been given an atlas at birth that has a thick red arrow pointing to the designated meeting place and the time to be there.
The constant cooing of so many birds at one time is like a concert all of its own. In imagination, you could almost see a penguin in his tuxedo standing and leading the mass creating coo music.
Do penguins have moustaches? According to Webster. A pigeon is a bird with a compact body and short legs. Pigeons are usually gray in color.
When I think of them, I realize I never heard or met anyone that longed to have a pigeon as a pet at home kept in a cage and had been given a name. And I never heard one sing like a pretty canary or talk like a noisy parrot? How did this Grandpa find a place to sit down with his little granddaughter amidst this strange population? It is so amusing to to see and hear them cooing all around her.
One or two brazenly landing on her, probably because she was feeding them a goody. Grandpa was happy and smiling just to hear the sweet giggles, she sitting atop his plump soft lap secure knowing he is there and protecting her. Her joy is with great abandonment, a feeling so special to the young, something we try to recapture as we journey through our adult life.
If someone gave you a pigeon as a gift, would you keep it, name it, tame it, cook it, or set it free to coo among the masses?
I would name mine Pete, and set it free to coo coo.
Just being playful,
Dorys
