Would you eat this? Do you know what it is? Yes of course you do. It started out, doing its job on becoming a hard boiled egg. My daily number one. I have to admit I love eggs, and yes they are always included on my morning menu.
Usually I boil six or eight at a time, so I can enjoy one every day of the week. While performing my same routine of steaming and then boiling, the terrible news of a ‘BIRD FLU’ epidemic was filling the empty tired current airwaves. Uh Oh!
Then on my next trip to the market, I was attacked with the price of a dozen large eggs at the moment. Oh be still my heart, I may have to take a hiatus from a daily habit. I think this particular egg and her sister refused to cooperate after
becoming aware of the frightful news. Was it a coup, a rebellion, was it done on purpose, or did she really care at all?
I’m looking at this egg on my breakfast plate and wondering, honestly, should I eat it? I could let it dry out, date it and then display it on an end table. Maybe I could have it bronzed? Then it could sit on the bookshelf next to my kid’s baby shoes. Think about it. Really, how could I make it feel better? Should I eat it? Would you?
Well I did. I ate the handicapped egg.
